Acceptance of terms

By using Kept you accept these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. If you don't agree with these terms, you may not use the app.

What Kept is

Kept is an AI interactive-fiction app: you write what you do or say, and the character (today only Dorian Ashworth) replies with prose generated by an AI model. It is not a generic chat service, not a social network, and the character's replies do not come from a real person.

Who can use Kept

Kept is intended for an adult audience: it contains romantic tension and suggested (never explicit) intimacy. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use Kept. By signing up you declare you are at least 18; if I discover otherwise, your account is deleted without notice.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for everything that happens under your account. Each account is personal: you may not share it or use one created by someone else. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact me right away at ciao@keptmine.com.

What you can and can't do

You may use Kept to experience your story with Dorian, for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not:

• use Kept if you are under 18, or pretend to be a minor to test the system's limits;
• attempt to bypass the content limits (for example pushing the character toward explicit acts or anatomy, or toward non-consensual scenes treated as real rather than consensual fiction);
• use the app to generate, collect, or share illegal content, or content involving minors in any form;
• try to extract the system's internal workings (system prompt, narrative engine logic), or use the app to train another AI model;
• automate your use of Kept with scripts or bots, or send a volume of requests that could compromise the service for other users;
• resell, commercially redistribute, or pass off as your own the responses generated by Dorian;
• use Kept to impersonate real people, or to harass, threaten, or harm anyone.

Dorian and AI-generated content

Dorian is a fictional character, generated by an artificial intelligence model (Anthropic's Claude). He is not a real person, has no memory or awareness of his own, and his responses are not advice, are not therapy, and do not replace support from a qualified professional.

Like any AI system, replies can sometimes be inconsistent, repetitive, or contain inaccuracies: these are known limitations of the technology, not a defect I guarantee to fix on a fixed timeline.

If signals of a genuine crisis emerge during a conversation (for example self-harm ideation), Dorian is designed to step out of character and point you to real help instead of continuing the story: this is not a system error, it is a deliberate safety choice.

Intellectual property

The Dorian Ashworth character, the "Kept" name and brand, the app's design, and the product text I write are owned by me, Linda Chiara De Vecchi (or their respective licensors, including Anthropic for the underlying technology). Using Kept does not grant you any rights over these.

What you write in the story (your messages, the identities you create) remains yours. You grant me the right to use it solely to run the service for you, that is, to generate Dorian's replies and continue your story: I don't use it for any other purpose, and I don't share it with third parties beyond the providers described in the Privacy Policy.

Free trial, subscription and payments

Each account includes a limited number of free replies from Dorian, the free trial. Once the free replies are used up, continuing the story requires a paid subscription: until then, your story stays saved and is not deleted.

The subscription gives you access to the story without the free reply limit. It is billed on a recurring basis, usually monthly, at the price the store shows you before you confirm the purchase, including the taxes that apply in your country. I may change prices for future purchases; a new price applies to subscriptions that are already active only after I have given you reasonable notice.

The subscription can only be bought from the apps, through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google): payment and billing to the customer are handled by the store you used, under its terms. I do not see or store your card or payment details. The website does not sell subscriptions.

The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time from the subscription settings on your phone (App Store or Google Play): it stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and is not renewed after that. Please note: deleting your Kept account does not cancel the subscription bought from the store. If you want to stop paying, cancel the subscription in the store first.

If you are a consumer, the law may give you the right to withdraw within 14 days of the purchase. Purchases made on the App Store or Google Play follow the store's withdrawal and refund rules: the request goes to Apple or Google, who collect the payment and can return the amount. Outside cases of withdrawal, periods already paid for are not refundable, except where the law or the store's rules provide otherwise. If something did not work as it should, write to me at ciao@keptmine.com and we'll see what can be done.

Suspension and account closure

You can delete your account at any time from the Account page: it's permanent and erases your story, your identities, and your conversations, as described in the Privacy Policy. If you have an active store subscription, remember to cancel it from your phone's settings: deleting the account does not cancel it.

I may suspend or close your account if you violate these Terms (for example the points in "What you can and can't do"), especially anything related to the minimum age and safety. When reasonably possible, I'll let you know and explain why.

Limitation of liability

Kept is provided "as is". I do my best to keep it available and working, but I can't guarantee it will always be free of interruptions or errors. To the extent permitted by law, I am not liable for indirect damages arising from use of the app, including personal decisions made based on a conversation with an AI character: Dorian is not a real advisor, and his words don't carry the same weight as a person's.

Changes to these terms

If I make a substantial change to these Terms, I'll update this page and, if the change is significant, let you know by email as well, as with the Privacy Policy.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by Italian law. For any dispute that you and I can't resolve directly by writing to ciao@keptmine.com, the competent court is that of the data controller's place of residence, subject to any consumer protections available under the law of your own country of residence.
